Back in the early noughties, Mr Trick and The Pete Sasqwax Beat Cult - then going by Waxfactor - created the Rhythm Incursions radio show. Airing online and across London's Resonance FM, its strapline was "Picking up where hip hop stops".

Ruthlessly eclectic, it took in anything from the glitched out beats of EdIT through to Prefuse 73 to Spectre to Machinedrum and more. Now, many of these artists are pretty well know. Back then, they were largely just on their way up.

Around 2006, Trick and Pete decided to work on a mixtape together; one that reflected the vibe of the Rhythm Incursions show. Titled "Up The Anti", it saw the pair trade mix segments back and forth, with a bombastic mix that came out swinging and only got more and more intense as the sounds went on. The military theme was apt!

Originally released as a limited run CD, the mix has been lost to the sands of time - until now.

So, crank up that volume, grab the mix, hit play and ENJOY. This, we feel, was among the best mixtapes of its time. Dive in and see what we mean...
